What brings you joy?
Spring is a time of unwinding from many months of feeling enclosed.
In the cold weather our muscles and joints can feel tight and achy.
The warmth of Spring can relax our bodies; the sun gives us vitamin D
and our surrounds begin to brighten.
This weeks focus is the squeeze and release of our muscles.
When we squeeze our muscles we can feel a sense of power, determination, or eagerness.
When we relax our muscles we could have sense of release,
ease or fluidity.
Imagine a flower growing from a seed.
It has the difficult job of pushing it’s way out of the ground to reach towards the sun.
When it is done growing, its petals open
and relax into the warmth of the light.
Each day it opens with the sun, each evening it closes.
There is a rhythm to nature.
Our body’s will begin to sense the rhythm of the opening and
closing of our extremities.
How far can you reach and how much can you squeeze and flex your muscles?
Try putting on a slow song with a steady beat.
Pulse to the music opening and squeezing your hands into a fist and then floating them into the air.
